As the end of APA’s Annual Meeting neared, news broke about the tragic shootings in an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. APA released a statement to express the Association’s sorrow and offered guidance on how to talk with children about the tragedy.

Serve Your Association and Make a Difference: Deadline September 1

Members of the Board of Trustees make the important decisions that ultimately steer the organization and have a real-life impact on patients. To reflect APA’s diversity, members of minority or underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to run for office. Nominate yourself or a colleague for the following national offices for 2023: president-elect, secretary, minority/underrepresented representative trustee, Area 2 and 5 trustees, and resident-fellow member trustee-elect. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, September 1. To submit a nomination or obtain more information, send an email to election@psych.org.
