APA Says Thank You to New York City

At the Opening Session of APA’s 2014 annual meeting, APA President Jeffrey Lieberman, M.D., presented a check to Nancy Olecki, director of development of the Doe Fund, for $20,000. The Doe Fund was chosen as the recipient of this year’s “APA Gives Back” program, which was created as a way to give back thanks in kind to the city where APA’s annual meeting is being held each year. By last week, the generosity of APA members had resulted in more than $10,000 in donations. APA will accept donations through May 7 and match the final amount donated. The Doe Fund was chosen for its holistic work to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism and help the individuals it serves to achieve permanent self-sufficiency.
