Winners of Assembly Election Announced

Assembly election winners
Members of the APA Assembly have chosen Theresa Miskimen, M.D., of Piscataway, N.J., as the group’s new speaker-elect. Miskimen just completed a one-year term as the Assembly’s recorder. She outpolled John de Figueiredo, M.D., the Assembly representative for the Connecticut Psychiatric Society. Robert Batterson, M.D., the Assembly representative for the Connecticut Psychiatric Society, was elected recorder. He ran against David Scasta, M.D., chair of the Assembly Committee of Representatives of Subspecialties and Sections.

The new officers will begin their terms at the close of APA’s Annual Meeting, at which time the current speaker-elect, Daniel Anzia, M.D., will replace Glenn Martin, M.D., as Assembly speaker.
