Editor Sought for Psychiatric Research and Clinical Practice Journal
The American Psychiatric Association (APA) is seeking an editor for a new journal it is preparing to launch that will publish content on research, clinical practice, and systems of care. The editor will work with a small editorial advisory committee comprising the editors of APA journals as well as the publisher and key APA Publishing staff.
The editor is responsible for the following:
- Determining directions and trends in science and policy and developing and soliciting content to address these issues.
- Reviewing submissions to the journal with regard to their rigor, merit, and adherence to ethical standards.
- Deciding whether any submission should undergo additional peer review, with recommendations as to whom should be contacted to perform said review
The position is part-time. Most work is done via the Internet and telephone.
Candidates must be APA members who have a broad knowledge of research and practice. Candidates should submit a cover letter outlining their qualifications and ideas along with a current CV.
